Investigation Troubles Pile on at Krispy Kreme
In a move the chain believes relates to matters currently under formal investigation by the SEC, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York has advised Krispy Kreme that it will seek to conduct interviews of certain current and former officers and employees of the company.

China Sales Fall but U.S. Comps Solid at Yum!
Yum! Brands Inc. reports that system sales for its China Division decreased 1% versus last year prior to foreign currency conversion, including adverse effects from the later timing of the Chinese New Year holiday period. U.S. blended same-store sales at company restaurants increased 4%.

Strategic Repositioning Contributes to IHOP's Falling Net in '04
Pre-tax impairment and closure charges of $14.1 million primarily related to the strategic repositioning of company-operated restaurants contributed to a decrease of 9.1% in net income to $33.4 million and a 5.3% drop in diluted net income per share to $1.61 for IHOP Corp. in fiscal 2004. Systemwide same-store sales at the chain grew 5.3% for the year.
