Online Marketplace Created
A new online marketplace for foodservice equipment is set to begin operation on Jan. 1.
According to the web site’s operator, Donna Sikes Marketing, the marketplace, dubbed foodserveX, is unique in that it will allow participating manufacturers to market their products to a nationwide end-user customer-base, but will permit only participating dealers from the purchaser’s area to offer price quotes.
By allowing only sales of this type, the site’s operator maintains, foodserveX uses the internet to work with the existing supply chain instead of against it.
