Dominick’s Grocery Unveils New Format
The Safeway-owned Dominick’s grocery store chain unveiled a new format earlier this week, according to a Chicago Sun-Times report.
The chain’s Lifestyle format features a fresh produce section that is twice the size of traditional stores’ produce areas; expanded deli, meat and seafood sections; and a high-end bakery that produces items such as tiramisu and mousse.
The chain, which operates in Illinois, plans to convert all Chicago-area Dominick’s stores to the new format during the next several years, according to the report.
