Rankin-Delux’s Jones Passes

Richard “Dick” Jones, co-owner of Rankin-Delux, died at his St. Louis home on April 7. He was 75.

During his career in the foodservice industry, Jones worked as a distributor of restaurant and bar equipment, and as a manufacturers’ rep before becoming a manufacturer.

In 1992, Jones and his wife, Peggy, purchased Rankin-Delux Inc., which is headquartered in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. Under their leadership, the company grew into a major foodservice equipment manufacturer, specializing in broilers, griddles and other cooking equipment.

Jones is survived by his wife, five daughters, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family requests that any memorial gifts in Jones’ name be made to the University of Chicago for Dr. Hedy Kindler’s cancer research. Checks may be made payable to the University of Chicago. Checks should be sent to:
