M. Tucker Acquires Jacob Licht

Paterson, N.J.-based M. Tucker acquired the business operations and certain assets of Jacob Licht Inc., based in Providence, R.I.

Jacob Licht will operate as a stand-alone division of M. Tucker and President Gary Licht will continue to serve as its president. The entire 25-person Jacob Licht staff will remain with the division in their current positions.

According to Marc Fuchs, M. Tucker chief operating officer and executive vice president, the company was motivated to acquire Jacob Licht primarily due to the quality of the operation. Geographic synergies also played a part in the deal.

This is the second acquisition made by M. Tucker within the last year. In October 2004, the firm bought Westchester Restaurant Supply, a Westchester, N.Y.-based dealership focusing on tabletop sales.
