Imperial Opens New Plant
Imperial Commercial Cooking Equipment has consolidated its two manufacturing facilities into a single 100,000-square-foot location in Corona, Calif.
Under Imperial’s previous manufacturing system, one plant fabricated equipment parts, while another assembled completed products. Now, both functions are fulfilled in one location, allowing Imperial to reduce its work-in-progress by 50%.
In addition, the company has fitted the new plant with advanced manufacturing equipment, including two machines capable of making multiple bends in a piece of metal, two robotic welding lines, two automated laser cutting lines and an automatic product mover and crating system that completely eliminates the factory’s need for forklifts.
