Yum Bans Smoking in Some Restaurants

Yum! Brands announced a no-smoking policy for company-owned KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants.

The policy impacts nearly 2,900 restaurants in the United States. The company said it will encourage the operators of the 4,200 franchised KFC locations and 4,600 franchised Pizza Huts to enact similar bans.

Yum! enacted the policy because of “the growing concern and heightened awareness of second-hand smoke, lung cancer illness and recent lung cancer deaths.”
