NRA Names Restaurant Neighbor Winners

The National Restaurant Association announced the winners of its seventh annual Restaurant Neighbor Awards.

The awards program highlights restaurants’ involvement in charitable activities.

This year’s competition recognized winners in three categories:

  • Small Business Category: Palmer Place Restaurant in LaGrange, Ill., for its work in raising money for cancer research
  • Large Business Category: Runza Restaurants in Lincoln, Neb., for its efforts to provide funding for books for area schools, libraries and foundations
  • National Corporate Category: Arby’s, LLC, for its role as the largest corporate donor to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America

In addition, the NRA recognized Bruno Serato, owner of the Anaheim White House in Anaheim, Calif., as the Cornerstone Humanitarian of the Year. Serato works extensively with the Anaheim Boy’s and Girl’s Club, serving on its board of directors and providing one free meal a week every week to more than 70 children.

Each of the award winners has been presented with $5,000 to continue their charitable work.
