Wendy's President, COO Resigns

Tim Mueller resigned from his role as president and chief operating officer of Wendy's International.

In these posts, Mueller was responsible for Wendy's North American and International divisions. Mueller joined the company in 1998 as vice president of special projects.

Wendy's Chairman and CEO Jack Schuessler will serve as company president on an interim basis. He will oversee the company's operations, marketing and R&D until a replacement for Mueller can be named.

Though the company gave no reason for Mueller's departure, Wendy's has been struggling with what many observers describe as weak sales results over the past several months.
