NAFEM Presents Carpenter and President’s Award Winners
The North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM) presented Louise O'Sullivan, president, PrimeAdvantage Corp., Chicago, with the 2005 William W. Carpenter Award and David G. Hatch, CFSP, chairman, HATCO Corp., Milwaukee, with its 2005 President's Award. The association presented the awards during its biennial trade show, which concluded Sunday in Anaheim, Calif.
The William W. Carpenter Award, the association's highest honor, recognizes an individual who has dedicated their life to NAFEM and the foodservice equipment and supplies industry. The President’s award recognizes a non-elected NAFEM volunteer who has worked tirelessly on behalf of the association.
O'Sullivan began her career in the foodservice industry with Groen and rose through its ranks to assume the role of president in 1985. In 1998, she co-founded PrimeAdvantage Corp., a private buying group for manufacturers. Her NAFEM career saw O’Sullivan assist in the launch of the CFSP program and serve on the board of directors, ultimately becoming the association’s first woman president.
"Her leadership and commitment to professional development and enrichment has led to more than 1,100 industry professionals earning the Certified Foodservice Professional (CFSP) designation," said Steven D. Cobb, CFSP, NAFEM president and president/CEO, Henny Penny Corp., Eaton, Ohio .
Hatch, a NAFEM member and volunteer for more than 30 years, has participated in numerous committees and served two stints on the association’s board of directors. "David has helped pave the way for future generations in the foodservice industry through information sharing and education," Cobb said. "His efforts have helped make NAFEM a stronger organization."
