Chain Earnings Report
Back Yard Burgers, Brinker International and Buffalo Wild Wings were among the chain operators to report fiscal operating results during the past week.
- Back Yard Burgers announced revenues for its third quarter ended Oct. 1, 2005, declined slightly to $10.2 million from $10.4 million during the same period one year ago. The burger chain also reported that same-store sales at company-operated units declined 3% during the period.
- For its first quarter of the company’s 2006 fiscal year, Brinker International reported revenues reached $976 million, an increase of 12% compared to the same period one year ago. The company reported same-store sales for its Chili’s concept increased 6% during the 13-week period. Brinker also reported same-store sales for Maggiano’s increased 2.7%, while Macaroni Grill and On the Border reported slight decreases.
- Buffalo Wild Wings announced a 21% increase in total revenue for the third quarter ended Sept. 25, 2005. Same-store sales increased 1.8% at company-owned stores and 1.1% at franchised units.
- CEC Entertainment, parent company of Chuck E Cheese’s, announced earnings for the third quarter ended Oct. 2, 2005, declined to $179.6 million from $183.6 million during the same period one year ago. Net income was $16.3 million in the third quarter of 2005 and $21.1 million in the third quarter of 2004.
- McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants reported revenues for its fiscal third quarter ended Sept. 24, 2005, totaled $68 million, an increase of 14.1%. over the same year-ago period. During that time, same-store sales increased 3.5%.
- Pizza Inn reported a net loss of $393,000 for its first quarter ended Sept. 25, 2005. The chain recorded net income of $285,000 for the same quarter last year.
