ServoLift/Eastern to Close
In a letter to customers, ServoLift/Eastern President Jonathan Vershbow announced the company’s plan to close. A specific date for closing the Boston-based independent, family-owned business was not provided.
“Ultimately, we have come to recognize that there were too many factors working against us—higher costs, stiffer competition from lower cost manufacturers, and internal infrastructure issues related to our physical plant, to name just three—to allow us to maintain our independence,” Vershbow said. “This letter cannot even begin to express the range of emotions we have been experiencing as we have reached the difficult decision to take this step.”
Vershbow added that the company is working with “an independent specialist” to assist in an orderly wind down. He added that company representatives will contact customers about their orders and ServoLift is working to fulfill as many as possible.
