NRA Projects 5.1 Percent Sales Increase for 2006
En route to reaching a record $511 billion, the National Restaurant Association projects industry sales will grow 5.1 percent compared to 2005 levels, according to its 2006 Restaurant Industry Forecast. This would be the first time the industry’s sales would exceed the half-trillion dollar level and marks the 15th consecutive year of economic growth.
The NRA projects sales at full-service restaurants will reach $173.4 billion in 2006, an increase of 5.2 percent over 2005.
Riding the wave of consumer demand for convenience and value, quick-service restaurants are projected to register sales of $142.4 billion in 2006, a gain of 5 percent over 2005, according to the NRA.
