Bennigan's Grill Recaps ‘05, Outlines ‘06 Expansion Plans
To help celebrate the chain’s 30th anniversary, Bennigan’s announced plans to open 30 restaurants in 2006. This comes on the heels of 21 openings during 2005, which more than doubled the number of new units from the previous year.
During 2005, the chain opened its first express restaurant and airport location at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Domestically, the company expanded into new markets with restaurants in Lincoln, Neb.; Wake Forest, N.C.; and Hot Springs, Ark., among others.
Outside of the United States, Bennigan's opened its first two units in Ireland, bringing the total number of international restaurants to 40. Bennigan's also opened six new units in South Korea, bringing its total to 26 in the country. Other regions in which the company opened new units include: India, Bahrain, Cyprus, Greece, El Salvador and Mexico.
