FEDA Taps Singer, Thoreson for Anoff Award
In an announcement made earlier this week via the association’s News and Views publication, FEDA named Henry Singer, chairman of the board of Singer Equipment Co., Elberson, Pa., and the late Arnie Thoreson, former president of Brodie Dohnmann Co. in Seattle, Wash., the recipients of its 2006 The Sam Anoff Lifetime Achievement Award.
Selected by the FEDA Executive Committee, this award represents the association’s highest honor and typically only one person receives it in a given year. This year is an exception, though. Thoreson passed away in 2005 and the Executive Committee felt he was equally deserving of the award, which he will receive posthumously, according to the announcement in News and Views.
Both Singer and Thoreson are past FEDA presidents. And in 2003 FE&S recognized Singer’s accomplishments by presenting him with the magazine’s initial Hall of Fame Award.
The association will recognize both men during the 2006 FEDA Convention, March 29 - April 2 at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, Phoenix.
