Chain Operating Results

McDonald’s, CKE Restaurants and Bob Evans report financial results.

  • McDonald’s announced same-store sales rose 5 percent in December 2005 compared to the same period in 2004. In the United States, same-store sales increased 4.4 percent, driven by the chain’s breakfast performance, and in Europe, same-store sales increased 4.6 percent. Same-store sales for McDonald’s in Asia, the Middle East and Africa rose 5.9 percent.
  • CKE Restaurants reported blended same-store sales rose 3 percent during December compared to the same period in 2004. Sales at the company’s Carl’s Jr. restaurants increased 4.5 percent, while sales for Hardee’s concepts increased 1.5 percent.
  • Bob Evans Farms Inc. reported same-store sales fell 2.2 percent in the last five weeks of 2005, compared to the same period in 2004.
