Keith W. Carpenter of Wood Stone Passes

Keith W. Carpenter, 76 years old, passed away on Feb. 5. A 37-year member of the foodservice industry, Carpenter spent the past 14 years as the head of Wood Stone Corp., a distributor of wood-fired, stone earth ovens that he founded.

Over the course of his career, Carpenter also worked for Vulcan-Hart, Foster Refrigeration, Traulsen Refrigeration, Hodges Shelving, Frymaster and Welbilt Commercial. In addition, he founded two manufacturers’ rep groups, one in Los Angeles and one in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Carpenter is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Sallye Carpenter, son Keith and daughter Kimberly. His son Kyle Carpenter has passed. Memorials will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the ABC Recovery Center in Indio, Calif., and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at the University Synagogue in Brentwood, Calif. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the ABC Recovery Center in Indio, Calif. and/or the Midnight Mission in Los Angeles.
