New Regulations for Gas Equipment Connections

To enhance safety and sanitation, American and Canadian standards for gas equipment in foodser-vice kitchens have been updated. The new regulations offered by ANSI and CSA require commer-cial-grade moveable gas connectors be used for all equipment that is moved on a regular basis for cleaning or maintenance.

According to published reports, in the past, many restaurants used residential-grade connectors. The change in standards now requires gas appliances that can be moved for cleaning or maintenance should utilize a commercial-grade flexible gas connector rather than residential-grade installations to ensure the appliances are connected in accordance with the new standards.
