Chain Expansion

Culver’s and Red Robin Gourmet Burgers were among the multi-unit operators to announce expansion news.

Culver's Frozen Custard and ButterBurger® opened its 300th and 301st restaurants on Oct. 3 in Fond du Lac, Wis., and Rogers , Minn., respectively. The 21-year-old chain, which was profiled in the September 2005 edition of FE&S, now has stores in 15 states and expects to open an additional 21 units over the remainder of the year in Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Texas and Wisconsin.

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers continued its national and Midwest growth with the opening of its first Iowa restaurant in Sioux City on Oct. 3. The new store seats 212 guests and employs more than 120 people.

Golden, Colo.-based Good Times Restaurants Inc. announced the opening of its newest location last month in Aurora, Colo. The company now operates 41 Good Times Burgers & Frozen Custard restaurants.
