Consumers’ Choice in Chains 2005 is a red-carpet award celebration of the highest scoring chains in our consumer based research study. “Winning” this award is so important to these chains that they promote it in their marketing, with their investors, and with their staff. In 2004, Red Lobster purchased lapel pins bearing the CCIC logo so that each of their servers could wear them.

In an exclusive consumer study commissioned by Restaurants & Institutions magazine and conducted by the Reed Research Group, more than 2,600 consumers rated 123 chains on eight important attributes of guest satisfaction. Scores for each attribute — food quality, service, convenience, cleanliness, value, atmosphere, menu variety and reputation — were then weighted to create an overall score.
